AREA: The area of historic Palestine is approximately 27.023 sq km, including The Tiberiades Lakes, Al Hula and half the Dead Sea. Israel has occupied 78% of these territories, leaving Palestinians an area of only 6335 sq km which are divided into:
5970 sq km West Bank and Gaza Strip, which has an area of 365 sq km. Palestine is 430 km long from north to south. In the north, the width varies between 51 and 70 km, in the center is 72 to 95 km in the Jerusalem area, while in the south part reaches approximately 117 km between Rafah, Jan Yunis and the Dead Sea.
LANGUAGE: The official language is Arabic, but a large percentage of the population speaks English and many, Hebrew and French.

INDEPENDENCE: The Palestinian National Council declared the independent Palestinian State on november 15, 1988 with a Yasser Arafat speech in Argel, Argelia. Palestine is under Israeli occupation, whose government has signed peace accords to leave the country, but they remain unfulfilled nowadays.
